Required for all children before entering Kindergarten
The state of Minnesota requires a FREE early childhood screening for all preschool-aged children (ages 3-5), before entering Kindergarten. You can get your screening through your district (see local links below) and send us (and/or your Kindergarten provider of choice) the completed results.
This screening is simply a check on how your child is growing and developing. It assesses multiple areas of your child’s health and development, including:
- Vision, hearing and physical growth
- Health and immunization history
- Social and emotional development
- Fine and gross motor ability
- Cognitive development
- Speech, language and articulation
Early screening helps support your child’s readiness for kindergarten and can also lead to early identification of areas that your child may require more support in. We recommend getting the screening done closer to age three so we can help provide students the targeted the support they may need as early as possible.
