Physical Education

Fitness is Fun!

Students will learn to understand that their body is a temple of God and because of that they should strive to keep it healthy. All students will have opportunities do develop large motor skills through play activities in our gymnasium and playground equipment.

All classes participate in a minimum of 30 minutes of large motor indoor/outdoor time each morning and afternoon.

Whale Room and Kindergarten

Whale Room and Kindergarten students will participate in formal physical education classes. Students will learn to work together through cooperative learning activities. All activities will emphasize fun and teamwork, not winning or losing.

Non-locomotor and locomotor movements and fitness activities will help develop Gross Motor skills and Manipulative skills. Some activities include:

  • Scooters
  • Jump Ropes
  • Balls
  • Parachute
  • Bean-bags
  • Juggling scarves
  • Beach balls
